Job Description
MG Kailis Pty Ltd fishing operations are based out of Exmouth Western Australia. The Company operates two demersal fish trawlers in the Pilbara Interim Managed Fish Trawl fishery (Pt Samson) and 6 vessels in the Exmouth Gulf Prawn Fishery.
MG Kailis is now seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced deckhands to work on-board its two types of trawl vessels.
Applicants shall ideally possess the following skills, experience and certifications;
Sharefishing Partnership Agreement: Percentage (16%) of catch

Applicants shall ideally possess the following skills, experience and certifications;
- Net-mending and rope splicing skills
- Recent and relevant commercial fishing experience
- Current first aid certificate
- Handling ropes and wires, attaching gear and fastening towing cables to nets, operating winches and net drums
- Hauling in fishing gear, removing fish or prawns and other marine life
- Sorting, processing, packaging, freezing fish or prawns and other marine life.
- Assisting with vessel product unloads and re-fuelling as required
- Standing lookout watches at-sea
- Performing routine maintenance and checks on deck equipment, cargo gear, rigging and life-saving and fire-fighting equipment
- Rostered cooking and associated cleaning asks
- Working in as part of a small team
